Something about Oliver
But there is something about Oliver, and I don't know what's that. I ask my colleague if she misses her daughter while she is working. While working, no, but on the way home, yes. But I miss Oliver almost every hour of the day. Perhap it is his cute little face which keeps looking at me from his photo frame. Or perhap, it has become a habit for me to blog about him daily. Or perhap, it is just his chickadee smell that has been infectious.
Gosh, just what is that something about Oliver? Whatever it is, Stop it Oliver. I need to bring the bacon home.

Meet up with Jaydon
Last Sunday, I had a briefing session at Ritz-Carlton for solemnisers and 7 couples who will be getting married during the Chingay Festival on 16 Feb 08. Oliver met up with Jaydon, Kenneth's nephew. The last time they met, Oliver was probably less than 6 months old. Jaydon could carry Oliver then, although Jaydon said Oliver was heavy. Jaydon was there to try out his role as pageboy for the event.
Looking at the photo, I realised how Jaydon has grown. Jaydon is now 3 years old. He is just as cute as I first saw him . He has a face which is so easily likeable. No wonder his uncle Kenneth madly adores this cute little boy.

In Transit
Well, the 1-hour short film, part of the Singapore Short Story Project III series, will be aired on Arts Central on Sunday 20 January at 9pm. We aren't quite sure whether we will appear in it though after the editing, probably Oliver has a better chance as he had a meatier role.
Stay tuned!

Updates
Oliver was recently down with diarrhoea, but he got over that quickly enough after a trip to Dr Veronica.
Not too sure which was the exact day that Oliver can walk on his own, but he finally did. Now, he is covering as much ground as he can, especially on weekends. Last Thursday, when he was supposed to be sick and resting at home, he managed to walked along the Singapore River and in the evening, the Indoor Stadium area. And just on Sunday alone, he left his footprints in Changi Airport, Vivocity and Suntec City. Our house is just too small for him and he will constantly cajole us to take him out. He probably got the walking genes from daddy. And we also notice that unlike most babies in the childcare, who have meaty and chunky thighs and calves, Oliver's legs muscles are taut and almost muscular.
Also, Jess and Andy were in Singapore again over the weekend, this time after their 3-weeks break in NZ en route to Manila. They should be finishing their last few months of teaching in the Philippines as they have been offered a teaching job in an international school in Bangkok in August. Will definitely be easier for us to visit them in the future. Still don't know the gender of the baby though.

Eri's birthday party at Del-care
Baby Japanese girl, Eri, actually appeared in ST. Guess which one is her? It is the cute little baby in pink. She is a pleasant little baby girl whose cot bed is situated near to Oliver's. And poor Eri, she is always awakened by Oliver's loud wailing when he wakes up. I think Del-care has actually shifted her cot bed away from Oliver. Got to check this out too. = )

First walk to school
The walk takes about 10 minutes and he makes it without any difficutly. We have to hold his hands to make sure he does not wander away. Usually, he does not like holding our hands while walking, but somehow, he allows us to hold his hands that day. And so, we complete the walk without much detouring.
While walking, Oliver continues to be on the lookout for his favourite vehicle - Bus. Whenever a bus passes, he will shout "Ba" (his pronunication is still not too accurate). The bigger the bus, the louder the shout.
Now you can imagine, Oliver's hyperactive self, walking on the streets, his head moving ever so quickly to look out for bus, stopping once a while to catch the fast moving cars, and stopping very frequently to step on the fallen leaves while holding our hands. By the time he reaches school, he is one smelly and sweaty "chickadee".
I think Oliver enjoys his first walk to school. I can feel that he is almost proud of himself, or is it just me feeling proud of Oliver?
Boon Heng and I look forward to walk again with Oliver tommorrow...
