That's Oliver latest catchphrase. And we have no idea what he means.

Heavy Drinker

At more than 2 and a half years old, Oliver is still drinking lots of milk.

At night he drinks an average of 4 times before he goes to bed, sometimes 5, and recently, because of the hot weather and our reluctance to turn on the air-con, he wakes up at night probably due to the heat and asks for milk too.

We were worried that he didn't take his dinner in school, but after checking with them, they told me that Oliver does eat and some days he eats a lot.

The excessive drinking is a habit that refuses to go away. Oliver is definitely getting fat.

Not a concert goer

It's not the first time Oliver did this, even though he had stage experience acting as a little pig last year.

This was taken from the weekly newsletter published by the school for his class recently.

"We went for a play “Gingerbread Man” on Tuesday; Ms Grace had to carry Edison and Oliver out of the theatre. Both of them started to cry when the lights went out. They stayed outside the theatre throughout the play. What a waste!"

Oliver Hours - Taking Public Bus

To spend time with Oliver, we put Heidi at Delcare on a Saturday morning and took a double decker bus. We decided on bus 196 and we were lucky to get a front seat on the upper deck. This is only the 3rd time I'm on a bus with Oliver, the first was for the filming, 2nd when they visited Labrador Park.
Oliver was pretty excited and so were we. In fact we did most of the pointing and talking to Oliver.

Incidentally I just saw the bus number... it's 9212.
Anyway, from atop the bus we could see other vehicles which Oliver might not see in his car seat. We also passed by the Merlion, huge lorries, road construction, diggers, the Kallang area where there were dragonboats and kayaks. These were the things that Oliver is interested in.

Eventually, we reached Marine Parade and we decided to alight near Vera's house and pay them a visit. However only Veron was at home with the domestic help as both Vera and Vivian were at some music class. Then it was déjà vu as we took 196 home and my running commentary sort of repeated itself.

So that was Oliver hours. Next we are thinking of bringing him to Sentosa. Let's see.

Oliver Hours

It may sound stupid to hear me saying that I miss Oliver since I see Oliver every day. But yet, I miss him. And that's why and how Oliver Hours started.

From Monday to Friday, Oliver spends almost 12 hours in school each day. Each night, we only spend two hours together. If I will to take out the time I take care of Heidi, showering her and feeding her, I probably only spend less than one hour with Oliver. For most Saturdays, we will send Oliver to school for half a day so that we can do some housework and time to relax before the gruelling weekend starts with two kids fighting for our attention.

I think it has not been easy for Oliver to share his parents with Heidi. It is part of his growing up. Good and bad. Good for Oliver as he has the full attention of two parents before Heidi comes along. Bad for Oliver when he has to learn to cope with the new change after Heidi comes along. Bad for Heidi as she does not have the luxury having two parents' full attention on her. Good for Heidi as it is a matter of fact that she need not learn to adapt to sharing her parents with another sibling since birth. Guess, there is nothing perfect in life.

For these reasons, Boon Heng and I thought we should spend quality time with Oliver and Oliver alone. It is important to me that Oliver will not feel being neglected and that we still love him as much as before. And therefore Oliver Hours come along.

Happy 36th Birthday to aging me!

Gosh.. I have aged so much. Got to face the reality. Finally get to hear Oliver sing Happy Birthday song to me!
