After visiting the JSSL-Arsenal training ground at Kallang for two Sundays, we decided to let Oliver have a trial football lesson for kids under 5s. There were about 10 over kids close to his age of 3+, made up of mostly boys. A young girl caught my attention. She was probably around Oliver's age, but very independent. On the first Sunday which we went to recee the training ground, she was there wearing her own clothes, meaning she was trying out for the first time. She didn't seem too bothered being alone without her parents around, only a little bit lost and the coach had to guide her along, but she was able to understand instruction clearly. Last Sunday, she wore the Arsenal jersey and started practicising with the group. Today, she has fully adapted herself to her new training regime. Definitely my idol!
Oliver, on the other hand, did not break any new ground. We had, with a tinge of hope, that Oliver would enjoy the ball and submerged himself to the fun. Not quite at all. Oliver sticked to Boon Heng all the time, and refused to join 'in' the team. Mostly, he was in his own world, not listening to instructions and even ran off a few times while the coach was conducting the lessons. Boon Heng had to bring Oliver back to the ground, which exhausted Boon Heng when our initial intent was to exhaust Oliver's high energy level.
NOT ready, the coach said... How familiar is this word. We heard the same when we brought Oliver to MYC music school. Well, perhap Oliver's mommy is just being a little bit too enthusiatic for a socially conscious boy.

McDonald's is junk food
The school has taught them well. Even the sports day last year was based on the theme of healthy and junk food.
Nowadays when we see a Mac outlet or rider, Oliver would exclaim 'McDonald's is junk food"... or "Burger King is junk food" on our way home along Amara Hotel. He also know what are the healthy food, like seaweed, Yakult, apple, fish, veg.
But it like we will be frequenting McDonald's breakfast more often soon, if we sign up Oliver for the JSSL-Arsenal football thing for kids whic is near Kallang netball court and the Kallang Mac. We were there last Sunday and it seems quite impressive, just hope that Oliver will take on to it.

Late Night Movie

The tickets were complimentary from EuroAutomobile, which often rewards its customers with movies that featured Alfa Romeo (Angels & Demons, Quantum of Solace).
It was quite a family affair as other patrons also brought their kids. It was also the night when PM visited the River Hongbao, so parking at Marina Square was pretty bad. But we managed to find a lot pretty quickly, and after we alighted I spotted a grey Brera parked behind me. Then I spotted a silver GT nearby, but while I was admiring it, I didn't realised that there was another grey Brera just next to it. It was Oliver who told me "Papa, it's the same one". Heheh... he recognises the serpent emblem.
Normally we would sit very near the screen, but knowing our kids, we sat at the second back row preparing for a quick exit. Oliver was the one easier to coax prior to the screening, but Heidi preferred to wonder around the cinema and both me and Sophia had to take turns to walk her around. Oliver was also quite funny with his spontaneous singing of CNY songs and muttering of "MONSTER" when the movie starts. The loud music and songs got the better of Oliver who was sitting on my lap, and he told me twice "Papa I wanna go outside".
As expected we didn't last too long, maybe about 30 minutes through the movie, we left for home as both were getting tired.
